Welcome to the Spring Edition of the Shrivenham Community Magazine. I can’t quite believe that 6 months has flown past since I arrived at Shrivenham, but there has been so much activity in that period! Thank you to all those who continue to volunteer their time and expend a huge amount of effort in supporting our wider Defence Academy and Shrivenham community. A big shout out to DAFFYS in particular, who have provided non-stop activity for spouses since the summer, and to the multitude of volunteers across Scouts, Girl Guides and activity clubs for the benefit of all our families and young people.

As the new Commanding Officer of Shrivenham Station, I would like to take this opportunity to say 'hello', and to extend a very warm welcome to all families who have just arrived here. I am delighted to have started in post. Having just spent three years in France as a liaison officer with the French Air and Space Force, I feel exceptionally privileged to be coming back to this energetic hub of learning and innovation, where an international presence is welcomed and celebrated.
